How participating in competitions boosts your confidence
Manish studies in 11th standard. He is very good at studies. Along with studies he also participates in all sorts of competitions in school, radio, TV, as well as newspapers and magazines. He participates in essay competitions, debates drawing competitions, etc. sometimes he wins first prize, sometimes third prize; but he never loses his courage.
Manish has a friend named Rajat. He doesn’t take interest in competitions and also mocks others who participates in all these.
Suraj of 12th standard thinks there’s no point in participating in lucky draws. Sameer thinks that the competition prize money is too, that’s why there’s no point of participating in such competitions as his pocket money is more than it. Richa of 11th standard participates in all kinds of competitions in newspapers and magazines but hesitates to participate in competitions held by her school.
Children should participate in all kinds of competitions. Children who start participating since young age do not fear competitions when they grow up. In competitions often questions from history, geography, politics, sports, film, etc. are asked; this increases our general knowledge. Prize in a competition is given not to lure but to boost confidence in a child. Participating in competition help us get rid our shyness and makes us bold and confident. Competitions makes a child confident and help her hone her talents and skills. It’s important to inform parents about competitions so that they can ensure that they are genuine and not fraud.
