Don’t let people take advantage

You have been advised to stay away from people who take advantage of the fight between two people. However many people fail to save themselves from them. Recently there was the same situation with my friend Aruna. She lives in a joint family of two brothers. They all live with love and cooperation. 

One day, her mother-in-law got ill and was admitted to the hospital. The treatment was long and so the hospital bill was high. The four brothers decided to split the bill among themselves. However, her husband contributed little extra as he had more money in his bank account. One day, when all the family members were sitting together in the living room when in some conversation Aruna said that if it was not for her husband then it would have been difficult to save mother-in-law. Her husband got furious at her remark and scolded her. Slowly everyone got into a quarrel. On the same day, her elder sister visited her. On seeing her sad face she asked the matter. Listening to her she advised that she should move out with her husband to a separate house. She gave an example of herself that how she is happily living with her husband away from family and how she can control her husband better. Aruna got influenced by her sister and after trying hard moved with her husband to a separate house.

One day her husband needed to go to Pune for a few days for some office work. He was worried about who would take care of Aruna and his kids on his behalf. Aruna’s sister made some excuse that she can’t help. In this tough situation, Aruna’s brother-in-laws and their wives came forward and offered to help them. Aruna moved in with her in-laws while her husband was away. On seeing their love and care Aruna realised she had made a huge mistake by leaving them. She had understood it was wrong to listen to her sister.

Like Aruna, we all sometimes come under influence of others and do something drastic. We fail to understand that the other person is just taking advantage of our situation. So keep calm about yourself; try to analyze the situation yourself and don’t let others take advantage of that, or else you will end up making huge mistakes.
