9 Colours of Navratri

  Navratri is a nine day long Hindu festival celebrated every year in the autumn. The word Navratri means 'nine nights' in sanskrit. The nine nights of navratri depict the battle between Durga and demon Mahishasura. The nine days of Navratri are dedicated to goddess Durga and her nine avatars the Navadurga. Each day of Navratri the devotees gets dressed in a specific colour. 1) October 17 ( Grey)- It's the very first day of navratri when kalash sthapna is done. When the winter comes we once again take out all the woolen clothes from cupboard. It's important to take care of woolen clothes. However, dry cleaning is quite expensive. But don't worry the advent of washing powder has make our lives much easier. Now we can wash our woolen clothes at home. However, take care of these five tips 1. Never wash woolen clothes with hot water. Always use cold water. 2. Don't use soap to wash them. Use detergent powder. 3. Don't keep woolen clothes soaked in detergent powder for too long. 4. Keep rewashing it with clean water until the detergent is fully gone from the clothes. 5. Mindfulness means living in the present. The more precise definition as per the Wikipedia is – “Mindfulness is the psychological process of purposely bringing one's attention to experiences occurring in the present moment without judgment, which one develops through the practice of meditation and training.” Mindfulness can be mixed with meditation or it can also be practised in itself.
